Métamorphoses

Metamorfoses coverTwo albums with early work of Francois Schuiten are republished in one new album: Metamorphoses. Aux médianes de Cymbiola (1980) and Le Rail  (1982). The two albums that Francois made together with Claude Renard were originally published in the monthly magazine Metal Hurlant before being released in the albums Humanoïdes Associés. The first album is a science-fiction story like the myth of Icarus situated in the exotic and magnificent scenery of the World desert Cymbolia. Science fiction again with The Rail, but in color and in a tone more technological. As William Davis returns from a distant mission he is victim of a strange crash of his computerized car. Against the backdrop of futuristic transportation and confrontation for the control of energy (a premonitory theme), a fable scope disenchanted by a masterful design.
